Janice Trusky earned an MFA degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and a BFA from Kutztown University, focusing her studies on Painting, Drawing, Printmaking and Art History. She studied Renaissance Art History and Plein Air Landscape Painting in Italy and worked with children in South Dakota on the Rosebud Reservation for the Sicangu Sioux Tribe.
Janice lectured at the College Art Association (CAA) Conference in Seattle where she presented professional guidelines for studio classes which use live models. The guidelines were accepted by the CAA’s Professional Practices Committee. Janice has taught at the International Studies University in Shanghai, China through JNC and Seminole State College, FL. Currently, she teaches at Penn State University, Montgomery County Community College and has taught at Temple University, and Gwynedd Mercy University.
Janice served as a Board Member for the ACAA, Art Center at Ambler. She is a current member of the AAUW (American Association of University Women), recently serving on the committee for the State of Education in Rural PA Town Hall Meeting that took place on April 18th, 2023. She was the juror for the 2023 Youths Arts Celebration, where awards were given to the best youth artists in Indiana County, PA.
Along with doing commissions, she provides private instruction for individuals/small groups. Classes taught include: Painting, Drawing, 2D-Design, Color Theory, and Art Histories. Janice Trusky also offers individual/group critiques and Career Development for working artists.
Exhibiting mostly in New York and Pennsylvania her studio is located in Indiana, PA.
