Janice Trusky earned her terminal degree (MFA), from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 2004. Focusing her studies on Painting, Drawing, Printmaking and Art History. In 1996, Janice received a BFA from Kutztown University. In 94' she traveled to Italy where she studied Renaissance Art History and Plein Air Landscape Painting. During that same year, she worked with children in South Dakota on the Rosebud Reservation for the Sicangu Sioux Tribe.
She has solo exhibitions and participates in group and invitational shows both in New York and the surrounding areas in and around Philadelphia. Along with exhibiting, Janice also juries and curates exhibitions.
Janice lectured at the College Art Association (CAA) Conference in Seattle where she presented professional guidelines for studio classes which use live models. The guidelines were accepted by the CAA’s Professional Practices Committee. Janice has taught at the International Studies University in Shanghai, China through JNC and Seminole State College, FL. Currently she teaches at Penn State University, Montgomery County Community College and has taught at Temple University, Gwynedd Mercy University.
Janice Trusky is currently a Board Member for the ACAA, Art Center at Ambler. Along with doing commissions, she provides private instruction for individuals/small groups. Classes taught include: Painting, Drawing, and Art Histories. Janice Trusky also offers individual and group critiques for advanced students and working artists.
